Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 2026
1. What this policy covers
This policy explains how MacroMinds uses cookies and similar technologies — including browser local storage — on our website and web app. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more broadly.
2. What are cookies and local storage
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Local storage is a similar browser mechanism for keeping small amounts of data on your device. Both let a site remember things between visits. Under privacy and e-privacy rules, some of these are strictly necessary and some require your consent.
3. The categories we use
Essential — always on
These are strictly necessary to provide the service you ask for, and they don't require consent:
- Authentication session cookies(set by our auth provider, Supabase) — these keep you securely signed in. Without them you can't use your account.
- Functional preferences stored in local storage — small UI settings such as whether a sidebar is collapsed.
- Your cookie choiceitself — we store your accept/reject decision so we don't ask again every visit.
Analytics — only with your consent
We use PostHog for product analytics to understand how the app is used (which features are reached, performance/load timing, and similar product events). Analytics does not run until you accept it in our cookie banner. When enabled, PostHog:
- stores a persistent identifier in your browser's local storage (and may set cookies);
- records product events and, for signed-in users, associates them with your account identifier and email;
- automatically captures technical data such as your IP address, browser, and device type;
- processes this data on PostHog's US infrastructure, which may involve a transfer of data outside your country.
We have disabled PostHog session recording. If you reject analytics, none of the above runs.
4. What we don't use
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we don't sell your data. We don't run Google Analytics, ad pixels, or third-party marketing trackers.
5. Managing your choices
You can change your mind at any time:
- Use the link (also in our site footer) to re-open the banner and accept or reject analytics.
- Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies and local storage. Note that blocking essential cookies will sign you out and may break core features.
6. Third-party providers
The providers referenced above maintain their own privacy and cookie practices:
- Supabase (authentication, database, storage)
- PostHog (analytics — only after consent)
A full list of the providers we rely on, and the data they process, is in our Privacy Policy.
7. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as our practices change. Questions? Contact contact@macrominds.io.
